The European Film Weeks, organised by the European Union in Morocco, is returning this year with a selection of 8 full-length features, which were selected or won awards at the largest cinema festivals in the world, and 3 shorts by up-and-coming filmmakers from the Southern Mediterranean.
This year’s selection comprises 8 European films, which, thanks to some being co-produced, represent 10 countries: Germany, Belgium, Denmark, Spain, France, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Romania and Sweden.
A selection with a great diversity of genres: a thriller, comedy, animation, drama, romance, social chronicle and political fable all feature in the programme of this 29th edition.
Since 1991 the European Film Weeks have been organised by the European Union in Morocco, the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, the Moroccan Film Centre, the Hiba Foundation and the Marrakesh School of Visual Arts. They are an initiative of the European Union in Morocco which aims to show the Moroccan public some great European successes through the eyes of well-known filmmakers as well as some rising stars in a diverse Europe.
