The 25th edition of the European Music Festival concluded in style on Tuesday, July 1st, at the Algerian National Theater, after six days of dazzling performances and just as many moments of communion with the audience. For a quarter of a century, this event has established itself as a true cultural bridge between Europe and Algeria, offering a unique opportunity for exchange, sharing, and discovery.
This year, 11 groups and artists from 10 European countries (Italy, Belgium, Bulgaria, Germany, Croatia, Austria, Romania, France, Spain, and Sweden) took part in this event, held from June 26th to July 1st. The large audience responded enthusiastically, vibrating to the rhythm of a diverse range of musical genres, from opera to flamenco, dream pop, rap, blues-rock, and jazz.
Beyond the onstage success, for many European artists, this first visit to Algeria was a true human and cultural discovery, reflecting the very spirit of the Festival, which aims to promote intercultural dialogue and rapprochement between peoples. The event also aims to foster artistic creation between talents from both sides of the Mediterranean. With this in mind, a series of masterclasses and composition workshops for Algerian artists, both professional and emerging, was held alongside the concerts.
