The last session of the workshop series on “Community Policing Awareness and Philosophy in All Police Sections”, to strengthen Community Policing (CP) practices was concluded in Bethlehem on 20 August. Ten deputy heads representing various police units and stations across the Bethlehem District, in addition to senior officials from the Palestinian Civil Police, including Brigadier Ashraf Mutlaq, the Head of Community Policing and Media attended the event, organised by EUPOL COPPS Community Policing Advisers. During the workshop, the attendees presented a final assignment showcasing how CP principles are being integrated into their respective units.

The participants fully appreciated the initiative and recognised the role of EUPOL COPPS in advancing modern, community-focused policing approaches. They also discussed key themes such as the need for measurable outcomes in CP activities and the role of community councils. The participants emphasised the importance of building effective partnerships with Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). The workshop series is part of ongoing efforts to embed community-oriented practices across all levels of policing, promoting greater trust, transparency, and collaboration between law enforcement and the public.
