The Delegation of the European Union to Jordan and the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts, under the Factory Platform – Jordan Art Residency & Studios (JARS) Programme, invite emerging photographers from Jordan and the European Union to apply for “People, Land, Memories,” a seven-day creative residency in Amman that explores the intersections of identity, place, and memory.
From 14 to 22 April 2026, fifteen photographers from Jordan and EU Member States will convene in Amman for an immersive programme of learning, creation, and collaboration with mentors and local communities. The residency will culminate in a group exhibition at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts. All proceeds from exhibition sales will be donated to a local Jordanian non-profit organisation supporting art and culture.
Venues and schedule: workshops at Wijdan Artspace, Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts from 15 to 20 April; public exhibition at the Jordan National Gallery of Fine Arts on 21 April.
Objectives: foster EU–Jordan collaboration; provide mentorship and professional exposure; develop stories of identity, memory, and belonging; engage with local communities; present a curated public exhibition.
Eligibility: citizens of Jordan or citizens/residents of an EU Member State; ages 22–35; portfolio demonstrating photographic skill; strong interest in intercultural dialogue and collaborative practice; language requirements: English for EU participants, English or Arabic for Jordanian participants.
Support provided: for EU participants, travel, visa, and €200/day covering accommodation and daily expenses; for Jordanian participants from outside Amman, travel and €200/day covering accommodation and daily expenses; for Jordanian participants residing in Amman, 70 JOD/day for daily expenses. All participants receive access to masterclasses, mentoring, production support, exhibition participation, and a certificate.
Timeline: call open 11 November to 12 December 2025; selection in December 2025 by an independent jury; announcement January 2026; preparations February to March 2026; residency and exhibition 14–22 April 2026.
