The Interreg NEXT MED Programme will officially launch its newly approved projects in Lebanon on 10 February 2026. The event will take place from 10:00 to 14:30 at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Beirut Verdun.
Entitled “Cooperating for a Resilient Mediterranean”, the event will highlight Lebanon’s active contribution to Euro-Mediterranean cooperation and showcase how Interreg NEXT MED projects contribute to a smarter, greener and more inclusive Mediterranean, through concrete actions delivering tangible benefits for territories and communities.
The event is organised in partnership with the Delegation of the European Union to Lebanon and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, National Authority for the Programme in Lebanon. It will bring together representatives of diplomatic missions from participating EU Member States and Mediterranean Partner Countries, alongside Lebanon’s governmental institutions, international partners, and project partners from academia, civil society, local authorities and the private sector.
The launch conference will feature high-level institutional addresses by H.E. Dr. Tamara El-Zein, Minister of Environment and H.E. Sandra De Waele, Ambassador of the European Union to Lebanon, followed by thematic panel discussions focusing on:
• innovation, skills and entrepreneurship;
• green transition and climate action;
• societal and territorial resilience;
• inclusive governance and partnerships.
