EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI), in collaboration with Musawa organization, along with Zoom In and another Syrian partner organised a 3-day online «Training of Trainers”(ToT). Two experts from the Gender Advocacy Group (GAG) conducted the workshop.
Participants attended from different part of Syria. This ToT aimed at building advocacy capacity on: women’s rights, Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG), UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on women, peace and security (UNSCR 1325), women’s political participation and, the Common Agenda for combating violence against women and girls as a major barrier to women’s participation in Syria.
The workshop’s agenda kicked off by introducing the Syrian Feminist movements followed by the international laws and conventions related to women and children. Gender, VAWG, UNSCR 1325, quota and women’s participation were discussed in depth as well.
One of the main objectives of the training was to equip the participants with the necessary tools and knowledge to become trainers themselves and enable them to initiate the organisation of a series of similar workshops focusing specifically on Violence Against Women and Girls.
