Over 500 rural and semi-urban less advantaged communities from 7 governorates in Upper Egypt and in the Nile Delta have benefited from the EU-funded “Socio Economic Development and Civil Society” programme (EUR 10 million).
The programme has been implemented between 2016 – 2019 in cooperation with four EU-partner NGOs, CARE, Plan International, Save the Children and Action Against Hunger together with the Arab Network for Environment and Development (RAED) in partnership with 5 other Egyptian NGOs and 471 grassroots organizations.
The aim was to support civil society actors to develop socio-economic interventions at community level benefiting in particular women and youth.
