Tunisia EU and Egypt Hold 9th Association Committee to Advance Strategic Partnership
The European Union and Egypt convened the 9th Association Committee in Cairo, co-chaired by Rosamaria Gili, Deputy Managing Director for MENA at the European External Action Service, and H.E. Ambassador Wael Hamed, Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs, with the participation of EU Member States. This high-level meeting reviewed progress on key shared priorities, including political dialogue and human rights; trade and investment; justice, security and migration; agriculture and fisheries; transport, environment and energy; as well as research, education and culture. Discussions also advanced work on the EU–Egypt Strategic and Comprehensive Partnership, covering macro-financial assistance and other important milestones. The EU and Egypt reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening cooperation that delivers opportunities and concrete benefits for citizens on both shores of the Mediterranean.
