EU and ILO Open Renovated Nursery Supporting Working Mothers in Jordan’s Industrial Zones

With EU support, H.E Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa & ILO inaugurated a newly renovated nursery at Al Dhulayl Industrial Zone, a significant milestonefor working mothers and a step further in boosting women’s economic participation.

The ceremony brought together representatives from the ILO, JGATE, the Ministry of Social Development and the EU Delegation to Jordan, to celebrate the new achievement under an EU-funded, ILO-implemented project which advances working conditions for workers in Jordan’s industrial zones, according to an ILO statement on Tuesday.

 

The nursery has undergone comprehensive upgrades to address structural and safety challenges, ensuring a nurturing environment for children and peace of mind for their parents.

 

EU Ambassador to Jordan Pierre-Christophe Chatzisavas underscored the broader significance of such initiatives, noting: “Quality childcare is a cornerstone of social justice.”
