On 28 October, the European Union and Jordan, together with Germany, Spain and Sweden, officially launched a new Twinning Project aimed at strengthening the capacity of Jordan’s Public Security Directorate (PSD) to combat transnational organised crime. The initiative seeks to enhance resilience, improve cross-border cooperation, and align national practices with international standards in the field of law enforcement. It also reinforces Jordan’s institutional and operational capacities to address emerging security challenges through knowledge exchange and partnership with EU Member States. During the launch, the European Union reaffirmed its strong commitment to Jordan’s security sector, highlighting ongoing cooperation on multiple fronts, including the empowerment of female officers, rehabilitation and reintegration initiatives, and the modernisation of operational and technological systems within the PSD. This new Twinning Project marks another milestone in the EU–Jordan partnership, reflecting shared priorities to promote stability, security, and the rule of law in the region.
