EUPOL COPPS human rights and rule of law advisers met their Palestinian counterparts from law enforcement and rule of law institutions online on Tuesday 4 August in order to discuss how to implement a number of recommendations that would enhance the right to a fair trial in the West Bank.

“Together with our Palestinian partners, we developed a set of 72 recommendations to strengthen the right to a fair trial, and we are delighted that progress is being made to implement these proposals. We are ready to provide our full support for this process” says Lina Zettergren, EUPOL COPPS Senior Criminal Justice Expert.

The 72 recommendations are expected to be integrated into the strategic plans of Palestinian law enforcement and rule of law institutions.
