Ambassador Ivan Surkoš, Head of EU Delegation to Egypt, and Ibrahim Laafia, Head of Cooperation, hosted together on Wednesday 29 May a Ramadan Iftar in Cairo. Several partners representing Egyptian ministries, NGOs, UN agencies, businesses, academia and EUMS were present.
Ambassador Surkoš lauded the strategic partnership that the European Union has with Egypt: “You are not just our partners in implementing key projects in Egypt that have an important impact on the socio-economic, sustainable development of the country. You are also part of our bigger family and we are happy to strengthen our strategic relations with Egypt for the benefit of all Egyptians.”
On the side-lines of the event, two EU-funded projects exhibited their handicrafts; TVET II that supports technical and vocational education and training and Visit Badrashin that strengthens responsible and rural cluster tourism in three main villages of Badrashin (18 kilometers south of Giza Governorate).
