EU-Egypt Association Council to focus on partnership priorities

The Association Council between the European Union and Egypt will take place tomorrow, 25 July. It will be co-chaired by the EU High Representative Federica Mogherini and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Hassan Shoukry.

The Association Council is expected to endorse the EU-Egypt partnership priorities for 2017-2020. The identified priorities cover economic reforms, good governance, rule of law and human rights, migration and security/counterterrorism, as well as closer dialogue and cooperation on regional issues.

The meeting will discuss the prospects for enhanced dialogue and cooperation in this framework.

Mogherini and Shoukry will also have a political dialogue on global and regional issues.
