The EU in Syria, EU Member States and likeminded had a timely opportunity to meet with UN Special Envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, following his visit to Damascus. The UN Special Envoy gave an insightful update on the security, economic and political outlook in Syria.
The participants inputs allowed for a broad exchange of views and on this occasion the EU in Syria recalled the EU’s support to the continuous efforts of Geir Pedersen to advance on all aspects of a political solution for Syria in line with UNSCR 2254, including the resumption of the Constitutional Committee.
