The EU-funded ClimaMed project has announced the winners of its regional photo contest 2018. The regional competition, organized by Clima-Med in collaboration with the European Union, was launched on November 16th to bring awareness on how climate is affecting daily life and landscapes in South Mediterranean region, and to address the urgency of finding sustainable solutions to diminish the effects of human-induced climate change.
ClimaMed thanked everyone who sent photos depicting climate change effects and actions taken by South Mediterranean neighbour countries, to tackle one of the most pressing issues of our time.
And the winners are:
-1st prize: Mohamed Rahman – Egypt
– 2nd prize: Alain Daoud – Lebanon
– 3rd prize: Assem Sultan – Lebanon
The EU-funded project “Clima-Med – Acting for Climate in South Mediterranean” aims at supporting the transition of partner countries towards sustainable, low-carbon and climate-resilient development. The overall objective of the initiative is to enhance energy security and adaptive capacity of partner countries and subsequently contribute to more stable, efficient, competitive and climate-resilient socioeconomic contexts, while increasing energy sovereignty and reducing CO2 emissions.
