In the framework of the EU-funded project on the Professionalization of Palm Tree Climbers (PGP), a new training session for palm climbers was launched on 12 January in Djamaa (wilaya of El oued) after Timimoun and Touggourt. This Righ region is known for its important palm grove.

Ten young trainees will learn in 2 weeks to use modern Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which will protect them from the danger of falling.

The training session, supported by the EU as part of the Pilot Actions Programme for rural development and agriculture (PAP ENPARD) Algeria program, is carried out in partnership with the association “Encounter of Two Worlds” (A la rencontre de deux mondes).
