A seminar to present the achievements of the projects of the associations funded by the “Support Program for the protection and promotion of cultural heritage in Algeria (PATRIMOINE) will be held on 24 April in Oran, Algeria.
The seminar aims at presenting the achievements reached and taking stock of the actions carried out as well as the trainings delivered to the Algerian associations.
The event will also focus on the collaboration between the ministry of culture and the EU Delegation in Algeria in the implementation of the actions carried out in favour of strengthening civil society.
The seminar will gather representatives of the 17 beneficiaries of the PATRIMOINE programme whose projects have dealt with different issues, such as promoting cultural tourism, safeguarding ancient crafts and vernacular building, enhancing oral traditions, preserving ancient documents and manuscripts.
The PATRIMOINE programme has been implemented by the ministry of culture for five years. €21.5 million is the budget provided by the European union for a better recognition of the cultural heritage as a tool for the economic and human development of Algeria. The programme has provided methodological tools, equipment and trainings in view of identifying, protecting and enhancing the Algerian heritage.
