On 11 November, the Delegation of the European Union to Lebanon engaged with an inspiring audience of educators, students and partner institutions to discuss the growing role of social enterprises in supporting inclusive and sustainable economic development. The event provided a platform to explore how social entrepreneurship can drive innovation while ensuring that no one is left behind.
With EU funding, particularly through Erasmus+ capacity-building projects, universities in Lebanon are equipping students with the skills needed to become future social entrepreneurs. Through updated curricula, practical training and the establishment of innovation labs, higher education institutions are fostering a new generation of young leaders committed to social impact and economic resilience.
The EU Delegation was pleased to join H.E. Dr. Amer Al Bisat, Fr. Salim Daccache, Rector of Saint Joseph University, Dr. Fouad Zmokhol, and the team of the USJ Business School – Faculty of Business and Management, for this important discussion.
The European Union reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Lebanon’s education sector and its efforts to promote entrepreneurship, innovation and social cohesion — essential drivers for a more inclusive and prosperous future.
