The EU Delegation to Jordan and the International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) launches the project “Support to the Mobility Partnership between the European Union and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan (JEMPAS)”worth EUR 2.5 million. The three-year project, funded by the EU and implemented by ICMPD, will focus on two key areas: Engagement with Jordanian expatriates abroad and preventing trafficking in human beings.
In October 2014, the EU and Jordan established a Mobility Partnership, creating a flexible framework for enhanced cooperation in the field of migration and mobility.
“Jordan is a key partner for the EU in the Middle East. The Mobility Partnership is an opportunity to further strengthen our cooperation in managing migration and mobility – as well as bring Jordanian and European citizens closer together”, says EU Ambassador Andrea Matteo Fontana.
