EU & Jordan: Partners in Progress

The EU is providing €20.2 million in grants to co-finance the construction of a wastewater network in Irbid, Jordan’s third largest city. On this project, the EU is working with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) through its Regional Trust Fund ‘Madad’.

Currently, only 63 per cent of the Jordanians have access to wastewater networks and treatment systems. With this project 15 towns in West Irbid will be connected to a large-scale waste water network and will benefit approximately 20,000 households and 105,000 residents.
