The closing event of the EU-funded EU-MEPEP programme took place on 2 July, bringing together over 100 participants from governmental institutions, international organisations, civil society, and the private sector to celebrate the programme’s achievements and lasting impact. Launched to enhance mobility and employability in migration-affected areas, EU-MEPEP has, over the past four years, empowered thousands of young people through targeted support in education, skills development, and job readiness.

Among its key accomplishments:

• The modernisation of three vocational buildings at the 10th of Ramadan Vocational Training Centre 
• The launch of SERENA, the first public, eco-friendly TVET facility in the 10th of Ramadan industrial zone 
• A focus on market-relevant training and job placement support, equipping youth with tools to succeed in an evolving labour market 

The event “The Journey of EU-MEPEP – Closure Event” was not just a celebration of results, but a moment to reflect on the programme’s people-centred vision. Attendees heard directly from students, trainers, and professionals whose lives and careers have been transformed by the initiative. Their personal stories of perseverance, growth, and opportunity brought to life the programme’s core message: when education meets opportunity, transformation is possible. From renovated buildings to real-life impact, EU-MEPEP’s legacy lies in the confidence it helped build, the challenges it helped overcome, and the futures it helped shape.
