TunisiaEUPOL COPPS hosts roundtable with Palestinian civil society organisations
This week, EUPOL COPPS hosted a number of prominent Palestinian civil society organisations for a roundtable discussion on the Palestinian Criminal Justice Chain.
The participating organisations provided the Mission’s management and advisers with a detailed overview of the current context in the justice and security sectors covering topics such as accountability, legislation, arrest and detention, the independence of the judiciary and corruption.
The participating NGOs included the independent Palestinian non-governmental human rights organisation Al Haq, The Human Rights and Democracy Media Center (SHAMS), the Center for Defense of Liberties & Civil Rights (Hurryyat), The Palestinian Center for the Independence of the Judiciary and the Legal Profession (MUSAWA) and AMAN (The Coalition for Accountability and Integrity).
