On 31 October, the European Union and the Palestinian Football Association celebrated the European–Palestinian Sports Day – Palestine Stars, a day dedicated to friendship, teamwork, and solidarity through sport. The event brought together the EU team and several Palestinian clubs for a series of friendly matches, culminating in a game with the Palestinian Women’s National Team. The match highlighted the growing role of women and girls in shaping the future of sports in Palestine and promoting inclusion and equality through athletic participation.
While celebrating the spirit of unity and fair play, participants also took a moment to remember Gaza, where many athletes and young talents have been lost and countless dreams destroyed. Their memory continues to inspire every player who steps onto the field with hope, courage, and resilience. Sports, as reaffirmed during the event, are more than just games — they are a shared language of solidarity and a powerful tool for building a fairer and stronger future. The European Union extended its appreciation to the Palestinian Football Association, as well as to all players, families, and supporters who contributed to making this day a celebration of cooperation and friendship.
