TunisiaEU’s CES-MED registered cities in Jordan seeks financing of its projects
The Jordanian Municipalities participating in the CES-MED project registered end of last year for the Covenant of Mayors. This was the right time to proceed with support to the financing of selected energy projects, by the Project Financing expert.
Now the first concrete steps are taken toward financing: Early March 2018 the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) visited Al Karak and Great Irbid Municipalities.
The visit was very much welcomed by both Municipalities. Mutual the opportunities to take next steps were explored for the most potential projects. In which cooperation with private sector will play an important role. Private sector involvement in PPP projects is very much welcomed, as it contributes not only to energy (cost) and CO2 emission savings, as well to local development and job creation.
