HRH Princess Rym Ali of Jordan will chair the 10th edition of the Mediterranean Journalist Award, which represents a landmark event, marking the 10th anniversary of the Awards programme since its creation in 2006 by the Foundation and International Federation of Journalists for the programme.
The International Ceremony will take place on 6 December 2017 at the European Parliament in Brussels.
HRH Princess Rym Ali is the founder of the Jordan Media Institute. She has been a producer and correspondent for different news organisations, including UPI’s United Nations bureau in New York and BBC World. She worked as a CNN producer and reporter for two years in Iraq in the lead-up to the 2003 war. Princess Rym holds a MPhil in Political Science from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques in Paris and is a graduate (MS) from Columbia University’s School of Journalism. In 2012, she received the Excellence Media Award by the Global Thinkers Forum and in 2013 Her Royal Highness was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of Letters by the UK’s Coventry University for her contribution in the field.
The Anna Lindh Foundation for Inter-Cultural Dialogue promotes knowledge, mutual respect and inter-cultural dialogue between the people of the Euro-Mediterranean region, working through a network of more than 3,000 civil society organisations in 43 countries. Its budget is co-funded by the EU (EUR 10 million) and the EU Member States (EUR 6 million).
