i-Portunus: EU funds mobility for artists

A new mobility opportunity for artists receiving EU funding was launched last week. i-Portunus is a project, selected and funded by the European Union, to trial a mobility scheme for artists and culture professionals.

The project will support short-term (15-85 days), flexible mobility from one country to another with the aim of establishing or improving collaborations, creating new work, developing audiences and so on. This type of mobility will become a permanent Action under the Creative Europe programme for 2021-2027.

Between April and September 2019, i-Portunus will issue three calls for proposals, funding the mobility of about 500 individual artists and culture professionals. The first call launched last week focuses solely on the visual and performing arts sectors. The submission deadline is 15 May.

Individuals from all countries participating in the Creative Europe programme (i.e. for the EU Neighbourhood: Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine, Armenia, Tunisia) are eligible to apply.
