Under the INVESTMED project, which aims to support entrepeneurs in the Mediterranean in the green economy, blue economy, and cultural and creative industries, partner LUMSA continues to hold coaching and mentoring sessions for entrepreneurs based in Egypt, Lebanon and Tunisia. The online program pulls together the knowledge and skills these entrepreneurs need to push their business ideas to be ready to pitch to investors turn their business ideas into a reality.
In these sessions, participants are uncovering and discussing the local and international barriers to their business, describing how to amplify the impact of their business, developing their strategies for the long term and connecting with other like-minded innovators from Egypt, Lebanon and Tunisia.
The first cycle finished in February 2023 and we are now into the second cycle lasting another 6 weeks. The business ideas of entrepreneurs are varied ranging from tackling energy efficiency in Egypt, to soil degradation in Tunisia, and bolstering the use of traditional recipes Lebanon to promote the use of local produce.
The INVESTMED project is co-funded by the European Union under the ENI CBC Mediterranean Sea Basin Programme 2014-2020. INVESTMED has a duration of 30 months, with a total budget of 3.8 million euros, of which 3.4 million euros are funded by the European Union (90%).
