Bringing together, Aqaba will host the EU Beach Clean Up 2025 alongside Interreg Cooperation Day. The initiative, taking place on 1–2 October, will celebrate collaboration, inspire youth participation, and reaffirm a shared commitment to more sustainable Mediterranean future.
On the shores of the Red Sea, Aqaba will host a symbolic encounter between people and nature, where cooperation turns into concrete action #EUBeachCleanup 2025 will this year be combined with the celebration of the 35th anniversary of the Interreg Cooperation Day, under the slogan “Let’s Give Aqaba a Blue Future” This joint initiative is led by European Union Delegation to Jordan and Interreg NEXT MED Programme, in partnership with Aqaba Special Economy Zone Authority “ASEZA”, the Directorate of Education in Aqaba, Zaha Cultural Center, Oxfam Jordan, Aqaba Marine Reserve, and other actors. Together, we will illustrate the spirit of partnership, solidarity, and shared responsibility.
When the campaign concludes, its legacy will remain, enhanced awareness among young people, stronger partnerships between European and Jordanian institutions, and tangible reminders such as the mural that testify to the power of cooperation. Aqaba’s message to the Mediterranean is clear: by working together, we can build a future that is sustainable, inclusive, and truly blue.
