EuroMed Feminist Initiative (EFI) has granted funds to 14 Community-Based Organisations (CBOs) across nine locations in the southern, northern, and central governorates of Jordan as part of its project “Towards Stronger Economic Participation of Women in Jordan,” funded by the European Union (EU). These grants aim to support the CBOs to implement their own projects and initiatives that bolster women’s labour rights, promoting their increased participation in the labour market while enhancing accessibility and breaking down barriers.
The grants were launched within a comprehensive capacity-building program titled “Grant Management Foundations for Nonprofit Organizations,” provided by EFI in partnership with Business Development Centre (BDC) and Tamkeen for Legal Aid and Human Rights.
The three-day training program has equipped the CBOs with technical and financial reporting skills, streamlined procurement processes, effective visibility practices, robust monitoring and evaluation procedures, knowledge of national policies and laws that protect women’s participation in the labour market, as well as insights into existing gaps. Additionally, the program has increased the participants’ understanding and awareness of the Implementation of the Engendered Strategy of the Economic Modernization Vision.
