Leveraging best practices to promote youth employment and decent work in the UfM Region

Aswan, 15-17 December 2024. The UfM, together with the German Development Cooperation, organized the fourth edition of the UfM Med4Jobs Stakeholders Dialogue on 15 December 2024 in Aswan, Egypt. The Med4jobs Stakeholders Dialogue brought together 70 participants. The Dialogue focused on three inter-related thematics, namely green transition, rural development through decent work, and labour mobility in the digital age. The sessions featured speakers from a broad spectrum of backgrounds, including project promoters and implementing partners from UfM -labelled projects under Med4Jobs as well as from the two UfM Grant Schemes dedicated to employment.

 

The Dialogue, co-funded by the European Commission (DG Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion), benefitted from the support of the Governorate of Aswan and was hosted by the Om Habibeh Foundation (an affiliate of the Aga Khan Development Network). The Dialogue was followed back-to-back on 16-17 December 2024 by the 10th Meeting of the UfM Community of Practice on Youth Employment in the Southern Mediterranean. The 10th meeting of the Community of Practice on Youth Employment in the Southern Mediterranean was held over two days and included a field visit to a women-led association (Al-Nour Association for Community Development), in addition to focused discussions dedicated to the Charter meant to serves as a comprehensive framework to guide youth employment initiatives in the Southern Mediterranean.
