The European Commission announced today the allocation of over EUR 6 million to support stabilisation efforts in Libya through the Instrument contributing to Stability & Peace (IcSP).

EUR 5 million will go to the Stabilisation Facility for Libya – an initiative of the Libyan Government of National Accord (GNA), supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the international community, which aims to rehabilitate critical infrastructure in conflict-affected areas.

A further EUR 1.1 million will be provided to a city profiling system which rapidly collects and presents statistically sound data at municipal and local level, identifying areas of greatest need. This profiling system will also provide analysis to support planning for stabilisation, resilience and recovery activities. (EU Neighbourhood Info)
