MED-QUAD in Jordan hosted a conference and exhibition about innovation and cooperation

Al-Balqa Applied University (BAU), Jordanian partner of MED-QUAD, successfully hosted the Mediterranean Quadruple Helix Approach to Digitalisation (MED-QUAD) Conference and Exhibition.The event, which took place at Al-Huson University College from Al-Balqa Applied University’s, saw an impressive turnout of participants, brought together a total of 126 participants, representing a pivotal moment in the pursuit of innovation and cooperation across the Mediterranean region.

The conference featured an exhibition of products and services, showcasing the tangible results of collaborative efforts in digitalization. Attendees were treated to a diverse array of innovative solutions and technology applications. They learned how the “Smart Water Use Applications Living Lab (SWUAP LL)” and “Cultural Heritage Exploitation Living Lab (ARCHEO)” have played pivotal roles in fostering innovation and progress within the region. Attendees also, acquired knowledge about the achievements made in these Living Labs and underscored the importance of bringing academia, enterprises, government, and communities together in collaborative ventures under the Quadruple Helix Approach. MED-QUAD’s Living Labs operate as essential tools to stimulate innovation as they could enable the public sector to direct the development of new solutions directly toward its needs.

The event emphasized the importance of collaboration between universities and society, highlighting the vital role of the Civic University within the Mediterranean region, and the invaluable contributions made by Al Balqa Applied University and its partners. Another one of the event’s highlights was the “Spin-offs – Success Stories” segment, where participants had the opportunity to learn about the fruitful outcomes of research projects and initiatives fostered by MED-QUAD. The success stories provided tangible proof of the positive impact that collaborative research and innovation can have on the Mediterranean community.

The event also fostered an atmosphere of creativity and entrepreneurship with a dedicated “Startups Networking” session. Promising startups had the chance to connect with potential investors, partners, and mentors.
