Around 400 students from Zahle schools in Lebanon gathered on 18th May 2023 and celebrated World Bee Day together with MedBEESinessHubs.

The event was organized in Saints Coeurs Rassieh and Saint Joseph schools where young explorers are now more aware about the importance of bees in our daily life. They are now able to differentiate between wild and domestic bees, while they had first-hand experience with the variety of products related to the Bee and Apiculture. Students were split into 4 working groups discovering:

  • seeds planting for promoting bio diversity and bees’ attraction,
  • Bee workers and Queens identification,
  • lip balm production and of course
  • honey tasting. “It is the first time that I taste honey, and it’s very tasty” declared one of the students.

This event was organized by the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Zahle and Bekaa in joint collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture in Lebanon, Beesline for Cosmetic products and Al Shatha honey.
