The Union for Mediterranean (UfM Secretariat) announced, on Tuesday 15 March 2016, the launch of two regional Mediterranean projects, EDILE and EMIPO, to promote investments in “inclusive growth in the Mediterranean” that is more centred on regional cooperation. Both projects are being implemented in association with two investment promotion bodies – the ANIMA Investment Network and iesMed.

‘EDILE’, which stands for ‘Economic Development through Inclusive’ and Local Empowerment’, will be undertaken in the context of cross-border cooperation (ENPI CBC Med, a programme funded by the EU). It aims at mobilising and promoting investment by strengthening local capacity. ‘EMIPO’ (EuroMed Invest Promotion & Observatory) aims to develop investments and business partnerships in the region.
