Mogherini and Libyan Prime Minister discuss political and security situation

The EU High Representative Federica Mogherini yesterday spoke at length with the Libyan Prime Minister Fayez Al Sarraj. They discussed the political and security situation in Libya and the support that the EU provides to the Government of National Accord and to the Libyan people.

The regional context and initiatives were also passed in review, with the aim of supporting an effective outcome. Mogherini reaffirmed the EU’s full commitment to supporting the political process and the priorities defined by Libya in a number of areas, including migration and border control.
 
She invited the Prime Minister to Brussels in the coming weeks to continue working together.
