High Representative/Vice-President Federica Mogherini met in Brussels with the Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in his capacity of Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) term President, the Secretary General of the OIC Yusuf bin Ahmad Al-Othaimeen and representatives of other OIC Member States, including Palestinian Foreign Minister Riad Malki.
They discussed a number of issues of common interest, in particular the Middle East peace process, as well as EU-OIC cooperation. Their shared commitment to a negotiated two-state solution, with Jerusalem as future capital of both states was emphasized, as well as the importance of enhancing the regular and constructive dialogue between the EU and the OIC.
