TunisiaMorocco: EU Reinforces young people’s skills about human rights
On 15th and 16th December twenty-five young men and twenty-five young women from a number of regions in Morocco took part in a series of training workshops in Rabat. These looked at human rights principles and instruments and were organised by the Driss Benzekri Foundation for Human Rights and Democracy, as part of the Youth4Rights project, co-financed by the European Union.
Aimed at a group of fifty young people aged between 18 and 35 and chosen following a call for applications, this project attempts to reinforce the young people’s skill sets according to their interests so that they can play a role in disseminating human rights culture. The project also aims to provide the young people with the tools to produce audiovisual creations on the subject of human rights, thanks to the organisation of workshops on video production.
This project falls within the Driss Benzekri Foundation’s continued engagement to promote a human rights culture. It aims to offer a platform to the young people, enabling them to participate and create. The projects is also an opportunity for the young people to contribute to the disseminating of human rights principles and, in particular, those of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the 70th anniversary of which is being celebrated this year.
