The European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) and the Presidency of the Public Prosecutor’s Office organised, on 11 and 12 February in Fez and Casablanca, a training course for about a hundred Moroccan Heads of public prosecution and officials of the Presidency of the Moroccan Public Prosecutor’s Office on the organisation and management of public prosecution services. This training was held in the framework of the South Programme III, cofunded by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the Council of Europe.
These training sessions focused on three main topics, namely the role of heads of public prosecutor’s offices in the organisation of a public prosecutor’s office, modern methods of management of public prosecutor’s offices and, finally, the challenges of good communication.
Since 2012, the South Programme, financed by the European Union and the Council of Europe and implemented by the latter, has been working with Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Tunisia and Palestine to ensure the respect for human rights and the rule of law, and enhance democratic governance in accordance with international and European standards.
