The new Head of Delegation of the European Union to Morocco, Ambassador Claudia Wiedey, presented her credentials at the Moroccan Foreign Ministry on 12 October, following her appointment by EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini.
The new ambassador is a German national, with a PhD in Agricultural Economics and Development Policies from the University of Bonn. She joined the European Commission in 1993 and has held various positions of responsibility including Head of Delegation in Botswana, Mauritius, the Comoros, Seychelles, then Head of Division for South Africa and East Africa, the Horn of Africa and the Indian Ocean at the EU External Action Service.
