TunisiaPalestinian Police Officers performed kidnapping and hostage taking drills
On 24 October 2017, Palestinian Civil Police (PCP) officers performed a kidnapping and hostage-taking scenario training in Bethlehem, supported by EUPOL COPPS police advisers.
Sixty police officers from the Central Operations Room took part in the drill, which was attended by all heads of Operations Rooms, representing all 11 West Bank districts. EUPOL COPPS police advisers provided support and advice to PCP Central Ops throughout the process from planning to implementing and finally evaluating each scenario training. The aim of the scenario training is to enhance the capabilities of the participants in handling kidnapping and hostage-taking situation.
The concept and implementation of scenario training is a result of a close cooperation between EUPOL COPPS and PCP Central Operations Department. EUPOL COPPS provides support and advice to PCP Central Ops throughout the process from planning to implementing and finally evaluating each scenario training.
