Sahel and Security in the Mediterranean: call for participants for dialogue workshop

The EU-funded EuroMeSCo research network has launched a call for participants for its dialogue workshop around the theme of ‘Sahel and Security in the Mediterranean’ to take place in Beirut on 26 October. The deadline for applications is 11 September.

This Dialogue Workshop forms part of the activities implemented within the framework of the action ‘Euro-Mediterranean Political Research and Dialogue for Inclusive Policymaking Processes and Dissemination through Network Participation’, co-funded by the European Union and the European Institute of the Mediterranean (IEMed).

The objectives of the workshop are to present and discuss the initial research findings of the Joint Policy Study on ‘Sahel and Security in the Mediterranean’, led by Dr Dalia Ghanem-Yazbeck, El Erian Fellow at the Carnegie Middle East Centre, and to secure interaction between policy research and policy-making in order to contribute to a more inclusive policy-making processes.

The travel and accommodation expenses of the selected researchers during the Dialogue Workshop will be covered by the IEMed.

The 7 selected researchers will be informed by 18 September and provided with detailed information about the logistics and operational aspects of the workshop.
