The international jury of the literary contest “A Sea of Words” 2018 announced yesterday the 15 best stories from the 11th edition of the Youth EuroMed Literary Contest, which this year received up to 250 stories from young people from 33 countries. The contest, organised by IEMed with the Anna Lindh Foundation, has been launched under the thematic umbrella of the European Year of Cultural Heritage.

The winners, coming from up to fifteen countries of the Euro-Mediterranean region (Albania, Algeria, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Jordan, Lithuania, Lebanon, Morocco, Poland, Romania, Syria, Sweden, Tunisia and Romania) have let their imagination run wild to tell stories, real or imagined, under the motto ” Memory and Identity: Rethinking Cultural Heritage”.
All 15 winners will have their stories published in a digital anthology and will have the opportunity to visit Barcelona from 19 to 21 September to attend the official awards ceremony, where the 3 first prizes will be announced.

The Anna Lindh Foundation for Inter-Cultural Dialogue promotes knowledge, mutual respect and inter-cultural dialogue between the people of the Euro-Mediterranean region, working through a network of more than 3,000 civil society organisations in 43 countries. Its budget is co-funded by the EU (€10 million) and the EU Member States (€6 million).
