TunisiaTeam Europe solidarity initiative provides support to 2000 Egyptian families in Ramadan
In the spirit of ‘Team Europe’, the European Union in Egypt, the Embassy of Germany in Cairo and the European Investment Bank provide support to over 2000 Egyptian families in Qena, Sohag, and Kafr El-sheikh governorates. The ‘Team Europe’ solidarity initiative is coinciding with Europe Day celebrations, celebrated annually on 9 May. The initiative is conducted in cooperation with ‘Misr El Kheir’ Foundation, through distributing ‘Solidarity boxes’ filled with basic sustenance needs during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
Ambassador Christian Berger, Head of the European Union Delegation to Egypt, said: “This initiative comes from our hearts and with a deep feeling of solidarity with the most deserving families. Especially in the month of Ramadan this collaboration echoes the Team Europe spirit and the wish to alleviate the immediate social and economic repercussions of the COVID19 pandemic.”
It is also worth mentioning that the ‘Team Europe’ initiative is supporting partner countries around the world to ease the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.
