A team from the EU Delegation to Lebanon toured Hasbaya last week at the kind invitation of El Khalil Foundation . EU Ambassador Sandra De Waele joined the Environment Minister, the Italian Embassy in Lebanon and partners on visits showcasing olive oil production, waste management initiatives, Lebanon’s cultural heritage, and the historic spiritual centre of the Druze community, Khalwat al-Bayada.
Hasbaya is a beautiful region, and the EU is proud to support its communities through:
Expanding access to social services in وزارة الشؤون الإجتماعية centres, from job opportunities to skills training
Supporting Lebanese Ministry of Public Health – وزارة الصحة العامة primary healthcare centres & mobile units with vaccinations, maternal & child care, and chronic disease support
Protecting and sustainably managing natural areas like Mount Hermon
Boosting farmers’ food production & income while rehabilitating key agricultural roads
