Security has been identified as one of the priority fields of cooperation between the EU and Tunisia at the EU-Tunisia Association Council held in Luxembourg on Monday 18 April 2016. This session coincides with the 40th anniversary of the association agreement.
“We renew our mutual commitment to deepening our Privileged Partnership, reflecting the exceptional circumstances which the Tunisian transition represents, and our shared ambition to intensify our relations in all areas”, EU High Representative Federica Mogherini and Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs Khemaies Jhinaoui said in a joint statement.
