An information day dedicated to the institutional and national authorities involved in the implementation and monitoring of the ENI (European Neighbourhood Instrument) CBC (Cross-Border Cooperation) Programme ‘Mediterranean Sea Basin’ took place in Tunis on Friday 18 March 2016. This meeting provided an opportunity to take stock of some of the initiatives funded during the 2007-2013 period.

“We are committed to this programme because of its participatory approach, which involves countries and regions from both shores of the Mediterranean in projects of common interest with a spirit of mutual respect, resulting in shared decision-making during the design and implementation phases,” said Yassine Brahim, Tunisia’s Minister of Development, Investment and International Cooperation.

The Minister also noted that: “The programme fits within the national objectives, which aim to put in place a new development momentum, based on decentralisation, the improvement of local governance and the reinforcement of the democratic process to achieve the equal participation of Tunisia’s regions”.
