On Monday 11 April 2016, the Council of the European Union “approved a regulation on emergency trade measures for Tunisia.” The aim is “to support the Tunisian economy through exceptional and temporary trade measures in the wake of the terrorist attack against the country last year”, the Council said. “The regulation opens for imports into the EU an annual duty free tariff quota of 35 000 tons of Tunisian untreated olive oil for 2016 and 2017”, it adds.
