A ‘Support Programme for Service Sector Competitiveness’ (Programme d’Appui à la Compétitivité des Services – PACS), funded by the European Union, was launched on 26 January in Tunis, led by the EU Ambassador, Laura Baeza, who participated in the inaugural seminar of this ‘multi-sector pilot project to upgrade the service sector’.

“The programme’s scope, funded by the EU with a donation of 20 million euros, will allow the service sector to start upgrading along with the industrial sector”, according to a press release from the Delegation in Tunis.

In Tunisia this sector represents “62.3% of GDP and 23 per cent of exports (including tourism)”, said the same source.
