Within the framework of U-SOLVE project, Palestine Ahliya University (PAU) formed a focus group in a public event co-organized in cooperation with the German Technical Cooperation GIZ/Do TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) programme.
An introduction about U-SOLVE project was presented, followed by a discussion with representatives of Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and local and international Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs).
The discussion highlighted the relationship of the educational institutions, including the university, with CBOs and NGOs, as well as the challenge of creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem in Palestine. It also tackled entrepreneurship in the context of urban development, as one of the main aspects of the project.
This focus group aimed at developing approaches to foster an entrepreneurial enabling environment for Palestinian young people and women, and to achieve the project’s objectives in creating a model of urban development based on innovative entrepreneurship.
EU-funded U-SOLVE intends to enhance support to young entrepreneurs in urban areas with focus on the environment and sustainable development. The project creates experimental pathways for place-based strategies, suitable for the Mediterranean countries, where the entrepreneurial energy is oriented towards sustainable and integrated territorial development.
