During June and July, the EU Training Support to Libya’s Security and Border Management Institutions (EU-BMT-LY)” project implemented by ICMPD had the following results:
In close cooperation with the Guardia di Finanza of Italy, organisation of a study visit for the Libyan Customs Authority to enhance peer-to-peer cooperation between the two institutions, to further strengthen Libyan training capabilities, and to expand future activities within the Libyan Customs Authority and its training institutions in Libya.
Finalisation of the “Assessment Report: Learning Management System (LMS) for the Capacity Enhancement of Libyan Training Institutions with a Mandate in Border Security and Management,” proposing a roadmap for the development of Learning Management System (LMS) solutions within the relevant border management training institutions.
Organisation of a workshop on Continuous and On-the-Job Training in Tripoli to raise awareness for relevant Libyan authorities on the importance of ongoing professional development, and to present successful strategies used by different organisations/entities abroad to offer continuous training support to staff members.
Organisation of bilateral meetings with the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Defence and Libyan Customs Authority to discuss the content of guidelines for institutional strengthening and training curricula development as well as Learning Management System (LMS) solutions.
